"Kids: They Dance Before They Learn There
Is Anything That Isn't Music"
BABY STEPS (18 months to 3 years old)
Does your little one love to move to the
music? Baby Steps uses play and make-believe to introduce dance terminology and technique. The introduction
of movements, activities and dance allows for increased bodily awareness and self-esteem. The focus of the class is on fun
and freedom of expression through music and movement, while teaching introductory ballet, jazz and hip hop! Baby Steps classes are parent/caregiver attended with participation and support for the dancers
as they learn to dance independently.
STEP IT UP (3 - 5 year olds)
Our Step It Up class takes it up a level for our dancers and teaches them more terminology and technique while
still keeping the emphasis on fun and creativity! The first portion of the class goes over ballet basics, while the latter
part of class introduces jazz, hip hop and modern with time for the dancers to express themselves in their favorite style
at the end of the class. This level focuses more on choreographed routines, across the floor technique work and a greater
dance vocabulary. Imagination, make-believe and creativity still play a big part in class instruction and while the
class gets more challenging, it stays non-competitive and fun!
